Filmmaker KR Sachidanandan Fondly Known As Sachy Passes Away At 48; Dulquer Salmaan, Prithviraj Sukumaran Offer Condolence
At the age of 48, Malayalam writer and director K. R. Sachidanandan, who is popularly known as Sachy has left the world for his heavenly abode on June 18 at the Jubilee Mission Hospital in Thrissur, Kerala. According to a report in News 18, the filmmaker suffered a cardiac arrest and was put on a ventilator. Earlier this week, Sachy had undergone hip surgery but before his second surgery, he suffered a cardiac arrest. As per India Today, on June 16, the Jubilee Mission Hospital issued a press statement explaining Sachy's condition.

The statement read, "He is being treated in the critical care unit with mechanical ventilation and other supportive measures. A multi disciplinary team is involved in his care. He is presently neurologically obtunded. CT Brain is suggestive of Hypoxic brain damage."

The Zoya Factor actor Dulquer Salmaan took to his Instagram account and shared a heartfelt note which read, “RIP Sachi etta ! Feels like we met just the other day while Varane Avashyamund and Ayyapanum Koshyiyum dubs were going on simultaneously at the same studio. Your innings as a director made you a force to reckon with. I was such a fan of your work. Each film better than the other. A huge huge loss to our industry. Condolences and prayers to all those who loved you and knew you.”


While Rani Mukerjee’s co-star from Aiyyaa Prithviraj Sukumaran also shared his photo and simply captioned it as ‘gone.’ Other actors like Nivin Pauly and Tovino Thomas have also sent their condolences on their social media handle.


Meanwhile, unfortunately, this year, some legendary actors from Bollywood have passed away which includes the veteran star Irrfan Khan who died after battling with cancer on April 29, leaving everyone in complete shock. As we coming in terms with his demise, Bollywood woke up with the news of legendary actor Rishi Kapoor passing away on April 30 after succumbing to cancer. Later, a legendary filmmaker Basu Chatterjee passed away on June 4. And the recent one who shook the entire country was Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely death on June 14.
